Team Natural or Team Relaxed??

Hey SPOTLIGHT girls!

If there is one common thing that all black females share is that our hair mostly either falls into the category of relaxed or natural.  A lot of females at some point in their lives have made the transition of going from natural to relaxed hair or relaxed back to natural hair.

But which is better?  This question has become one of the most popular debates for years.   The pros and cons of natural hair are:

Pros:
  • It's cheaper, No more expensive perms
  • Healthy
  • New style options
  • No more dry scalp
  • Less breakage
Cons:
  • Lots of tangles to deal with
  • It doesn't always look the way you want it to, especially in humid weather
  • You may not like your hair texture
  • You have to worry about it getting wet
  • Straightening or having a blow-out is a little difficult and may not always have the same effects as relaxed hair
The pros and cons of relaxed hair are:

Pros:
  • Easier to manage
  • Less chances of getting frizzy from hot, humid weather
  • Makes your hair look straighter and longer
  • Lots of style options
  • You can get it wet without worrying about shrinkage
Cons:
  • The chemicals can damage your hair
  • More chances of breakage
  • If you suddenly decide to go back to natural hair, you have to do some major hair chopping
  • The hair becomes dry and brittle pretty easily
  • It'll put a nice-sized hole in your wallet

These are just some of the many pros and cons of natural and relaxed hair.  However, everyone has their own opinions of which is better.  So, my question is this....

Which team are you on??
Team Natural or Team Relaxed??
